Just a fun blog of what's new in the life of this lovely librarian. I write about all the interesting stuff in my life but mostly about my dog Jade, my husband Corey, my cat Pootie, my folks, brother, sister-in-law and all my friends.

Update on Stu
No blockages to report though he does have one artery that is twisty and curvy and that might have been the reason he has his stress test issues. (He only lasted 2 minutes before they shut him down.) But they report that he has absolutely no blockages what-so-ever.
So, despite his COPD and only having 70% of his lung ability (which the respiratory guy told him was great for a fat-old-man) he is 100% healthy. So my question is, why isn't he taking care of my mother who's cholesterol was 100 points more!!!!! Looks like dad is going to be cooking and cleaning now!!! HA ha...oh, I slay me...that's a really good one!!! Whoooo....I'm a riot!!!! Little Stu the Pooh in a French Maid outfit!!! Ha ha....good thing it's Halloween!! Mom reports that Jeff and I need to take very good care of HER!
Well, dad will be back to living the "good life" as he just said to his roommate! Mary will return to Florida, as planned, on November 4th, after my fabulous cousin Melyssa's wedding. Good thing we won't need to use dad's new suit coat at his funeral and he and mom can cut a rug this weekend in celebration! Dad goes to Florida the Monday before Thanksgiving.
Thank you for all your good wishes! The good thoughts and prayers really came through!

Friday Afternoon Fun
Mom even bought Stu a new suit coat, pants, tie and shirt. If things don't go well Tuesday, it may have to be double duty!!! Or if he ends up staying in the hospital, then mom'll return it as he won't make the wedding.
Anyhoo...it was a fine Davis Darlings Day if I do say so myself!!!

Code Stu
Mom of course is all worried. She changed her flight home from next week to today, so she can be here in case he needs his wife, er, I mean nurse!! I'm to send out updates to her friends as she left her computer in Florida. So on Wednesday I'll send an updated email out, letting folks know what happens.
The timing on this is really stinky, what with mom being in Florida and dad getting ready to go. Turns out he'd been having "spells" all summer and had to leave chairs in random spots around the Fahm so he could sit when he ran out of breath. He only mentioned this in a "by the way doc" kind of manner when he went to see the doctor for something unrelated. Um, smart move Stu!
*sigh* Why can't he just take care of himself? But we do get to have mom home when we weren't expecting it, so YIPPEE for dad's spells!!! Wait...that sounds so wrong!

Dinner
Jade dog came alone for the ride and visit and it made for an interesting entrance. Lily wasn't so happen to see the little black ham hock, so she started growling and a dog fight before we were all the way in the door. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the two were seperated. Lily settled down and was super cute the rest of the night. Especially when she tried on a new shirt! It was like a paralytic! She hardly moved an inch!
And then there was the TV. Ayden's a huge fan of horror films and we watch part of Saw. Um, HELLO CREEPY!!!!! Oy, it was a very odd movie. Ayden told me how it ends so I don't have to worry abotu watchign the rest of it, but still, ewwwwwww!

LL Bean Comforter
Dorky yes, but heartfelt….
October 14, 2008
L.L.Bean Returns 3 Campus Dr. Freeport, ME 04034
To Whom it May Concern:
I am returning my twin sized down comforter. It was my first down comforter and was well loved and used since the very first day it came to live with me. It cuddled me through the cold dorm nights my freshman year of college in NH, warmed my toes and heart during the darkest of cold winter in Fairbanks, Alaska and treated me to toasty comfort when working in Western NY.
Since moving home to NH it has been my go to comfort when distressed, cold, lonely, cranky, sick or just in need of a toe cover while watching TV. I regret now that it’s been so well loved and used as it has been losing feathers faster than I can sew the holes up.
So, it is with great sadness that I am returning this great comfort. I’ve been promising my boyfriend for 3 months now that I would do this, however, I just haven’t been able to let go of the comfort, joy and peace. So today I am taking a great leap, boxing up my most prized possession and sending it back to you.
I am hoping that you will be able to send me a new twin comforter that will have the same great qualities as this one. Of course it needs to be warm and comforting (DUH!) but it also needs to be able to wrap around myself and my loved ones, spread joy, bring the warmth of true sanctuary, be a security blanket, look good and be happy to provide service for another 13 years, much like the one I am returning.
Treat this comforter with love, as I certainly have.
Thank you,
Jennifer M. Davis

two things
1. I'm sick as a dog with a cold and home from work for the second day in a row. still not feeling better. actually feeling worse.
2. Work no longer allows access to blogspot. Stupid Big Brother, always watching. so i'll probably post less. TOTAL bummer.
Two things that are awesome:
1. My dog. She is back from the groomer and if I could smell, I bet she'd smell great! Plus, she has been all sorts of lovey dovey this week, probably because she has a badder infection, but still, I like to think it's me!
2. I've caught up on 7 movies already since I've been out of work. Some are great, such as Dreamgirls, and some not so much, such as the fantastic 4 sequel. But still, at least it's better than daytime soaps!!!

Drag ass
But I do have some fun stuff to look forward to! Tomorrow is a Davis ladies luncheon at Church Landing. Don't tell, but Rachey gets to leave school for some special bonding time with Nan before she heads south for the winter. I think we'll all be excited, but Rachey especially. Shhhhhh...let's keep that one under wraps!!
And in November we are going to see the Blue Man Group in Boston with Josie and Ayden and their friends Lorraine and Paul. I'm very much looking forward to that. Not only will the entertainment be cool, but Lorraine is wicked neat and I can't wait to meet her husband!
Here are some pictures of Babysitting from Friday. *sigh* I love these darn kids!!!
This was Brady after having his dinner. Notice how some is still on his face? Jade dog was EXTREMELY interested in sniffing him after this. I had to hold her back from licking, that would have been yucky!
Jade dog, Jade dog, Jade dog, Jade, Jadey, Jade, Jade dog, Jade, Jadey, Jade, Jade dog, Jade, Jadey, Jade! I'll go out on a limb and say that this was the extent of the conversation between these two!!!
Snuggle time on the couch. This was the last moment of peace for awhile. Poor Sophie didn't want to go to sleep OR bed without cartoons and/or Jade dog. Needless to say I eventually caved and Jadey snuggled in. But it was 9:30. And how long can one kid safely cry for anyhow?

The states where I have been

I've been to 40 states. How cool is that? Most of the north western states were while I was drving to Alaska with mom. Then I hit Arizona and New Mexico with Kate. California with Bobbi and Teri, Nevada with Corey and the rest while toodling from one spot to another. I've always said I'd like to visit all 50, but I think that is becoming less important to me as my 20's get further and further away.
I've also been to 10 countries. Oh and my cat? You may ask about him? He has been to 14 states, which is more than some people I know! Damn cat gets around!!Pootie's map:
