My dad's sister, known to me as Aunt Nancy, passed away last week and her calling hours and funeral were this Monday and Tuesday afternoon/evenings. It has made for a long week already.
Aunt Nancy had lung cancer (GROSS) and lived with the diagnosis for 2 years before passing. Cancer sucks, and it sucks even more when it slowly takes your loved one's life, little by little. She was the Avon lady in Lakeport for 42 years. Never a morning person, I could count on Aunt Nancy calling me every month or so when I lived in Alaska. It was always later in the evening in Fairbanks, but late LATE in Laconia. She would be up and about, wanting to chat with folks and my time zone made it a perfect match! Plus, Aunt Nancy always gave me fun Avon stuff, including those tiny white trial lipsticks in tons of different colors. That was always fun!
At her funeral yesterday, many people got up to celebrate her life and mourn her death. It was not a great reason for all her friends and family to gather, but it was nice to see people that I have not seen in a long time, many since before my grandmother passed away in 2002.
As it was so nice to see everyone, I kind of set mom and dad up for a fun summer party! We used to see dad's side of the family every Christmas Day afternoon for frivolity at the Fahm. This hasn't occurred in many years, but I thought we should revive the tradition but have it in July. So, mom, if you read this...can we have Christmas in July on the Fahm?
Just a fun blog of what's new in the life of this lovely librarian. I write about all the interesting stuff in my life but mostly about my dog Jade, my husband Corey, my cat Pootie, my folks, brother, sister-in-law and all my friends.

Pootie
I've been working on a new project since receiving mom's Christmas gift. She bought me a copier/scanner/printer and I've dug out my old photos.
I found some super cute ones of Pootie-pie. He was such a tiny kitten. I smuggled him into the building my apartment was in underneath my coat. He was a terror!!! Running down the hallway and back and bombing back down the hallway, through the living room and into the kitchen. What a riggin'! I'd sit on the floor with a string and he'd chased it around and around and around me until he would sit panting! After recovering he'd start again. He'd go for as long as I could stand to sit on the floor! Below at the pictures of the cute little fluff ball!

Been Awhile
So it has been awhile since I've posted. Work blocked wireless for awhile and made it hard to post. And by the time I get home the last thing I usually want to do is go on and write, but I have missed it. So here I am!!!
We've been somewhat busy since Christmas and the Holidays. Hard to believe it's been almost a month since Christmas. Corey is back to coaching on Saturdays for the Farmington Boys and Girls club. Stamping Memories, the crafty store I was helping with had their grand opening and I taught my first class. I've taken up ice skating on the weekends (it's SUPER fun!!!) and we've been spending a lot of time avoiding the cold weather.
Betty is in the shop this week. I had to get an estimate and chose Bayview Auto do the work. They were really nice and I've hardly had to do anything with the insurance company. Also, they made all the rental car arrangements, so that is fantastic! I dropped Betty off on Tuesday and by now she should be roofless and interior-less, waiting for the new parts! Poor Bets...she is nothing BUT roof, so it must be odd to be so naked!!!
Jade doggy had a bladder infection and it took me awhile to figure it out. She started pottying on the floor rugs in the kitchen! Naughty dog! We thought it was just due to the extremely cold weather. But a trip to the vet with her urine and she had another infection. That is number two. 14 days of antibiotics and $48 later and she seems to be cured. Keep your fingers crossed that this one doesn't come back!!!
My Nancy passed away this week after a long struggle with Lung cancer. Stupid cancer, it really did a number on her. The calling hours are this Monday and her funeral will be Tuesday. I reckon that it will be a hard event to attend, as most funerals are. However, if there is a bright side to such a hard event it is that I will be able to see a lot of my family and everyone will be there to support one another. Mom and dad won't be able to make it home from Florida, so Jeff and I will go to represent the Stu Davis clan.
I have some cute pictures of Sophie and Brady that I shot while we were babysitting a couple weeks ago. It's always such fun to be with the kids. And they are so damn cute it's hard to describe!!!
Hopefully our next adventure will be to Florida in February sometime, but not sure when, where or how. We could use some fun in the sun about now!!!
Ok, look for more pictures and stories to come, as long as wireless holds out!!!

It's Hard out There for a Pug
In her defense, we did have a busy weekend and she went to Jamie and Jill's house with us on Saturday night to help babysit. So she missed out on her 10 hour nap that day. But still, I didn't think she'd end up with such a babysitting hangover!!!
She was so good with the kids too. Sophie loved her, hugged her, poked, prodded, chased, patted and talked to her all night!! And the only thing she did to avoid it was run to momma and then to daddy. Luckily though Sophie thought it was a fun game of chase and Jadey got a good work out in.
And where was Brady for all of this you may ask? He was right there in the mix, listening to our little snorter breathe. Each breath in and snort out made those dimples on Brady's cheeks pop right out! He laughed and laughed!!! Talk about a laid back kid, I mean, he got a kick out of her breathing!!! Imagine if she'd done something spectacular, like a dog trick?
So this is how she spent her Sunday. Didn't move much after she finally got off the couch either. Went for her walk with daddy and then back to bed. Phew...it's hard out there for a pug.

Rachey
She is just so photogenic! I like snapping pictures...the pouty one is from when I told her we weren't opening gifts until the day AFTER Christmas to spread the anticipation out. I don't believe that made me very popular!!! There is also a picture of her with all of her new Webkinds. My mother went over board, as usual, for the holiday and Rachey ended up with 5 new ones. I think she said she has more than 10 now! Holy cow!! And check out her super cute slippers. Man, I wish i was just half as cute at her age as she is!

Happy New Year Everyone!
Corey went all out this Christmas. Not only did I get a fabulous new lens for my camera, but he got me sparkly pretty diamond earrings. He said not to expect them every year, but thought I deserved them. And I can no longer say he hasn't ever been in a jewelry store!! Aren't they pretty? I haven't taken them off yet! I thought you'd all enjoy the sparkly bling on the New Year!
