Just a fun blog of what's new in the life of this lovely librarian. I write about all the interesting stuff in my life but mostly about my dog Jade, my husband Corey, my cat Pootie, my folks, brother, sister-in-law and all my friends.

Kate and Brian's
This weekend at Kate and Brian’s was fantastic. We visited, ate and visited. We played the most frustrating but super fun card game EVER and we kiss, kissy, kissed that sweet young baby. I’ll post some of the 800 pictures I took later this week.
And I only gained one pound. How great is that?
I heart my Kate and Brian! They are beautiful parents, so good at what they are doing with Ethan. He is so loving and fun and cute and good natured. *sigh* He’s just the sweetest! I no longer have a crush on the Hawley-Smith couple, it’s on their baby!
Feel better Kate (she came down with a cold) and give the boy some kisses for me. Oh and hug Ethan too!

YEAH!!!
I’m going to see my friend Kate Hawley this weekend in Ontario NY!!!!!! Corey will be driving Miss Jenna, which I’m sure he isn’t looking forward too as it looks to be a 7 hour and 28 minute trip! But…we are both looking forward to seeing Kate (who’s new last name is Smith, but it will always be Hawley to me), her hubby hoo Brian and their super cute baby, Ethan. We’ve yet to meet little Mr. Ethan and he is turning one on Sunday, so this should be fun. I don’t think there are any big plans, no huge outings planned, but I am sure there will be lots of chat, laughter, play, snuggles (with Ethan, not Kate and Brian) and fun!! I can’t wait!
Look out Ethan! Aunt Jenna is on her way!

Bad Memories? Or are they?
Today one of the Employee Health Nurses told me the question I’d asked her was one we’d already talked about two times. Then she asked me if I was having memory issues. Um, yeah, I guess so!!! I swear, I don’t know if it’s the meds of the grey matter, but I can’t recall what I did 5 minutes ago! And, I have a hard time remembering what I’ve read or written. It’s getting to be SUPER annoying. Good thing Corey has been away or he’d be at the end of his frustration rope! How long will this memory crap last?
And will I write this same blog again tomorrow? Better yet, have I already written this? OY!

Walk the Line
Well, since I got out of the hospital I’ve not been driving, as ordered. It’s kind of a bummer, but I am walking the line, as instructed. Even yesterday, when it was drizzling and crappy outside, I hauled my sad, sorry butt up the hospital hill, muttering to myself the entire way “This is good for me.” Today however, it was pouring out when I took Jadey poo for her walk. I decided, within seconds of stepping out on the back porch, that I was going to have to call for backup!!! Josie, God bless her soul, came to the house and gave me a ride up the hill. I am just so fortunate.
I did have an appointment with my neurologist today too. He is young, smart and funny. I really enjoy his sense of humor and he is easy to talk to. My sister in law gave me a ride to that appointment and picked me up too. I am so fortunate to have people in my life who love me enough to go out of their way during their busy day to cart me around. I’m very fortunate.
Dr. Suranyi was fantastic. He put me on Lamictil, a drug that can be used during baby making years and advised me to have a planned child, should that be in my cards. When I assured him that I was ready for babies but that Corey is a. laid off and b. not always sure of what he wants, he said to make sure I take plenty of Folic Acid and a prenatal vitamin when I am ready for a kid.
And here is the kicker….he then said to me, “You know, you should decide soon about having children, since when you turn 35 your fertility will drop off.”!!!!!!!
OH MY SWEET JESUS! Did a medical man just tell me that or was I having another seizure? He obviously doesn’t know me that well or he wouldn’t have made a crack about my fertility. But two years!!! I know the stats, but did he HAVE to remind me???
*sigh* I need more therapy!!! For so MANY different reasons!

Pants Off Dance Off
Poor Corey, he was like..."whaaaat" and I said, I have a bug in my jammy pants. (I think I said it a few times before he got it.) In the meantime, I was wiggling as fast as I could out of my jammies pants while holding onto the trapped bug in my hand. EWWWW. So when I finally wiggled out of the cursed jammies I found a SPIDER!!!!!!
Ewww, yuck, phtoo....it was a big, fuzzy, hairy, giant brown spider!!!!!! Ew, did anyone else just get chills?
When I told my spider hating boyfriend what I found he refused to look at it. As a matter of fact he jumped out of bed immediately, shaking his t-shirt and boxers out and then pulled back the covers and we both checked for more Tarantulas!! (ok, not really, but when it's under your jammy pants which are pretty tight and it's a brown, hairy spider, you naturally think the thing is HUGE!!!) (Reality says that it was actually the size of my thumb nail.)
Needless to say, those jammy pants are now in the laundry and I'm working through the constant creepy crawlies that thinking about it brings on. This may mean extra therapy. Lots and lots of extra therapy!!!
And for my friend Kate...Tell your folks about this one too...they might need some new fun cocktail hour stories!!!
