Teaching

I'm going to be teaching scrapbook layouts at Stamping Memories. THey have a new owner and once they move to their new store in the Belmont Mall I'll have the opportunity to help out AND teach classes. I'm pretty darn excited! I love that kind of stuff. It will deinitly be more fulfilling than the everyday schlepp. And I'll be able to be creative too!

My step class nightmare

I wrote this a few years ago. It's SO funny. Sadly it's also true.

Imagine this. You are fat. You are out of shape. You boobs sag to China and your hips are wider than the local expansion bridge. You have not been to the gym, in any steady capacity since summer. You are having your monthly “friend”.

A friend talks you into going to a step class. She says, "oh, it's so much fun! You'll really like it!" So you attend. Nervous at first, you get going. The class is one hour long. 15 minutes in you are breathing like a dog in heat. 20 minutes and your face is red like a beet, sweat starting to drip between your breasts and eke down your back. At thirty minutes you think..."step, touch THIS bitch" as you feel the blood in your veins coursing through your brain. At 35 minutes you think, oh man, this is what a simultaneous heart-attack /stroke feels like. 40 minutes and you are begging the devil to kill your instructor, or at least strangle her with her perky smile and that annoying microphone! 50 minutes and you've already been off the step and on the floor for 5, just plodding along, hoping no one notices how terrible you are feeling, breathing and doing in this class. When the cool down starts you think, I am never going to cool down. PUSH UPS!?! SIT-UPS!?! This might not be what you bargained for.

You are tired, you have had two quarts of water during this class but your are dying for more. Your sweat is sweating you’re so hot. The water dripping off the your split ends is disgusting and you just want to go home and shower. But you get cornered by the desk. The perky and nice instructor comes over to see if you enjoyed the class. You lie and say "if I can walk tomorrow, I'll be back next week” “Hee-Hee” * Insert fake smile here* Turns out she is a Doctor’s wife and they have two Bulldogs. Sadly you enjoy the chit chat, thus sealing your place in next week's one hour torture session.

So you leave the den of embarrassment, otherwise known as the gym. Waddle out to the car, no coat, cause it would get sweaty, but your car seat gets sweaty too. You struggle to concentrate on the ride home, still hot and sweaty, the first inkling of a headache starting in your lower back and throbbing it's way to your right eye. You get home, think about bending over to pat your cat. Think twice since you would then need to call a friend to help you stand back up. You call your brother and his girlfriend, who had kindly invited you for dinner. Make excuses. Don't mention the headache. Tell them that your two months of chiropracty have been undone in the longest hour of your life. Deal with the guilt.

Shower. Haul sad sack of self out when the hot water runs out. Stretch while naked and putting on tanning lotion (know you'll look cute tomorrow, whether you can move or not). You realize, oh my goodness, I can actually touch my toes and not bend my knees!! That hasn't occurred since the initial back pain. WOW! Know you won't be able to do that in an hour, let alone tomorrow, so you savor the moment.

Have a Lean Cuisine Turkey dinner and an orange smoothie. Snuggle into bed, only to get up 10 minutes later to pee. Figure out the two quarts of water you had at the class is leaving your system. Take four Motrin to combat the pain in your back and the biting eye muncher that now lives in your head. Go back to bed. 45minutes later, pee again. Snuggle in, moan, try to get comfortable. Cry. Watch the Olympics. Pee again. Stretch while up this time...wait...don't touch your toes, the eye muncher will just get angry and the throbbing won't let up. You think your head may explode may explode! OY!

Ahhhhh finally, lights out, made it. 2 hours later, your eyes pop open...must PEE, must
RUN!

Monster Man and Jack o'Pumpkin Bags

I just had to post these pictures of the crafty I made today. It didn't take very long and it didn't take many supplies either. These would make great treat bags for Halloween. I got the idea off of scrap mart's blog, so don't think this is an original idea!!!!

Pilates

So on Wednesday I took my second Beginners Pilates class. One word for you OUCH!!! Yowsers, did my abs hurt afterward!! And my upper front thighs too. Very odd. The next day was no joy either! But at least it motivated me to go to the gym on Thursday night. I even did a bit of running while doing my 17 minutes on the treadmill. I can only job for about a minute at a time, but it made the time pass much quicker and made me feel like I was getting somewhere. So yeah me! Maybe I can keep it up. My goal for the weekend is to go to the gym once. Let's see if I can follow through on that!!!

After that I went to a friend's house to tutor her child in her multiplication tables. Tutor Math? Jenna? HA! Those may be your first thoughts, but this little girl liked the way I flashed her flash cards. So she told me that she liked how we don't end up arguing when she studies, like she does with her mom, so I thought why not? I needed a tutor when I was a kid too. I was using my fingers to add and subtract!! Mrs. Clifford tutored that right out of me. Instead I used little dots next to the numbers....I was cheeky even at a young age.

Anyhow, it was fun to go help her. We started with her 2's, which she has down pat. So now we are working on the 3's. I thought we'd start at the bottom and work out way up, so that she'll have a good base. We made flash cards, did some worksheets and I had a good time!

Jade dog stayed home. She doesn't have that many toes to count on, so the poor pup wouldn't have been any help! :)

Excited

Today I am excited for no real good reason. I just feel really good. Corey and I had an excellent evening last night, I got a good night sleep and Jadey was super cute this morning. Plus, a drug rep had munchkins. And everyone out there in blog land (all 1 of you who read this) should know that once chocolate munchkin makes my day! Since the surgery I haven't been able to eat a ton, like I used to, but it's just as satisfying to bite into that one tiny little bit of yumminess! What a grand treat!

The only downer of the day is that mom decided to go back to Florida early. I even encouraged her to drive down and fly back for my cousin Melyssa's wedding in November. But I didn't think she'd take me seriously. Now she is leaving in 2 weeks. *sigh* Where did our summer with Mary go? Dad will follow her down right before Thanksgiving. He is staying to close up the house. This year they are attempting to keep their money from the Oil Barons of the world and will not run the furnace. That means that anything that can freeze must go into the basement in boxes. Lots of work, but unavoidable in today's economic climate.

I'm looking forward to this afternoon when I take my second Pilates class. Last week was just the 'easy' first week and it kicked my ad's butt!!! Tee hee...does that mean it kicked my back? Or the front of my stomach? Ha ha...phew, I'm funny!! But it made me feel really good that I could follow along and do all the holds and stuff. A year ago and I wouldn't have been able to! Goooooo ME!!!!!

shiny randomness

So today is beautiful. The sun is shining, the air is crisp and clear. I'm pretty glad to be at work, which is usually a stretch.

I've been reading Matt Logelin's blog at www.mattlogelin.com. His wife passed away the day after their baby girl was born a preemie. It's pretty rough stuff. But then he posts pictures of his gorgeous baby smiling at the camera and I have to agree with him, all is right in the world! His daughter has the most beautiful smile and though I've never met anyone in his family, she seems to look like his wife. I just have so much emotion for this tiny baby her daddy, it's really amazing how a blog can make you care about a perfect stranger.

In other news, Stamping Memories, our local paper crafting store has been sold and will be moving. I'm going on Friday to meet the new owner, Nanette, and see about teaching some classes. How exciting is that??? Yippee!!! I'm just so glad that the store will now be at the Belknap Mall and have Mall hours. Now we can go on the weekends.

OK, off to daydream my day away until I get to go home and love my Jade dog. She is such a pistol in this cooler weather and loves to prance and walk and charm the neighbors. She is such a hoot!

NOTHING

Ok, so when I said last week I wanted to stay home all day and sleep on my couch, and then watch a movie while on the couch and then take another nap on the love seat and then read a bit on the couch, I don't think I meant it literally. I think it was supposed to be funny. But then this weekend it came true. Sure, I shopped a bit with Mom, visited the Fahm for Dinner Sunday and visiting on Saturday and went out to dinner Friday and Saturday night. But other than that, we did absolutely NOTHING. I'm not even sure I did laundry. Although my mind is such mush now I don't actually recall. *sigh* And it was so beautiful too!!!

Love my couch.

OH MY GOD I LOVE MY COUCH!!!!!!

AND SO DOES JADE DOG. Can you see her?

Couch Day

Oh couch day, couch day, I love you SoooosooosoosooooooOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Yippeee, today my couch and love seat arrive. I'm anxious to see if it will fit through the door. I'm worried that they guys won't call me like I've asked and then I will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm excited to get my first new to me and everyone else ever couch and love seat! Woooooo-hooooooo!!!!! I was actually thinking of taking Thursday off, just so I can stay home and sit on my couch. Then get up and sit on my love seat. Then watch a movie on my couch. Then snuggle in on my love seat.

*sigh* I hope it's everything I think it's supposed to be!

I love my dog! - Monday, September 15, 2008

I feel like I am being unfaithful to my groomer. Jade dog had been going up to Meredith to a fantastic woman who just loved her, to get fluffed and buffed. But the timing was always hard as I get out of work at 4 and to get up there and drop Bits off at a reasonable hour I'd have to take earned time and haul up there. Then wait for a couple hours and drive home. Plus, Kim just moved her place so it was almost in Holderness.

SOOOOOOO, yesterday I switched Jadey-poo to Barks N'Bubbles on Union Ave in Laconia. I just zipped home, grabbed the most excited little pug dog EVER and dropped her off. Then two hours later I reversed it. Took less than a half hour to complete and only cost like 4 miles in gas. What could be better than that?

But I feel badly. Like I am being unfaithful. Oy! What to do, what to do. But Jade seemed to really like the new gal Carrie. And Carrie liked her. (But I mean, who wouldn't...Pugs are made for loving!) So I am hopeful that this new relationship works out for us. Plus, they have a 10 month old Bulldog named Smudge. And everyone knows how addicted to the BDs I am!! Made Jadey look like a mouse!

Does this mug look mousey?

Wild Weekend

This weekend was great. When I got out of work on Friday I went home and started painting. The living room is now, after two hard days of labor and much work, a yellowy beige color. It's quite pretty, I think, though Corey says that he doesn't see any difference in the white walls, although I think he is glad to be rid of the blue one. I was done with three walls by the time Corey got home and then we went to Fratello's with Josie and Ayden. We sat upstairs and listened to the jazz musicians. It was fun and the food was delish. Sadly though, we ate SO late that I went to bed with a tummy ache.

Of course I've still been fighting this stinking headache all weekend but I got up early enough on Saturday to at least feel like I could get something accomplished. Between breakfast at 9 and when we left for the Rochester fair around 2:30, I finished the whole darn place!! Holy cow! And I did have to send Corey to the Wal Mart, much to his chagrin. I think it's the first time he has been to, and spent money at, a Wal Mart in YEARS!!! I kind of had to guilt trip him into going, but seriously, I would have had to clean up the living room AND myself, taken a shower and gone to Wal Mart, then come home and gotten it all out again, so he really saved me a lot of time. Mostly I think he did it so the house would be back in order as he really can NOT stand any sort of change and having the living room distributed throughout the kitchen and bedroom was really bugging him.

So we then went with Josie and Ayden tot he Rochester Fair. It was super fun. Hot, hot, HOT when we got there, but it didn't stop us from having a good time. We went to the cheesy circus, saw the giraffes, watched folks feed the tigers and ate! Mmmmmmm, we had delicious yummies! We had Fries and pizza, fried dough, apple crisp with ice cream and Josie had something else I can't recall. Mmmmm it was fabulous!!!

We were home by 8:30 or so, but I was SO ready to be in bed. Long day for me, but I enjoyed the process of making the house brighter.

Sunday started with and early phone call from Karen to tell me about Josh's wedding and his mom's pug dog rescue. Sadly, I couldn't go back to sleep after that and I was up and at em. After Corey went to grocery shop, I picked up the house. Put the stuff back on the walls, got the bookshelf back in order. I packed away a ton of stuff for yard sales and the such and vacuumed, dusted and cleaned. The living room is fantastic now! I even vacuumed off the couch, so that whoever ends up taking it will have a nice clean space to sit.

By then of course I'd had enough! I was tired, my neck and head were killing me and I just needed a nap. So I spent most of the afternoon watching movies on DVD while Corey watched football. No nap for me, my head just wouldn't let me sleep.

At 6 we went to J & A's for a delicious dinner! We had a roast beef, yummy mashed potatoes and carrots with a bit of brown sugar on them. Followed up with apple crisp it was the best dinner to be had! Norm and Cathy joined us and a good time was had by all. Then it was home and straight to bed. Holy cow, I wanted sleep, but I just couldn't. It was one more sleepless night with a headache for me. 8sigh* Guess I better cal land make a doctor's appointment. I hate to though, I mean, why won't they go away on their own???

Things to look forward to this week:
  • Pot roast Tuesday or Wednesday
  • Beginner Pilate's on Wednesday night
  • new furniture on Wednesday
  • getting rid of the couch on Tuesday
  • Eye Doctor's appointment on Thursday
  • Oil Change for Betty on Friday
  • Picking out Fabric for Valances
  • learning about our new health insurance!
  • getting rid of my headache and getting a good night's sleep!

Weddings and Showers and Marriage OH MY!

Labor Day weekend we attended Corey's old roommate's wedding. Chris and Kathy married at Church Landing in Meredith. It was a beautiful ceremony and up until that time I had no idea that the Landing had a ballroom. It was simply delightful. The ceremony was outside under a tent, facing the water. I don't recall the vows, but the weather was beautiful and the view of passing boats and clouds made for a perfect moment for them I am sure.

A cocktail hour followed the ceremony while the bride, groom and their entourage had pictures taken. Chris and Corey were roommates for 7 years or so and shared many friends. I got to meet his crazy friend Gabe and his delightful girlfriend Kelly. Jamie and Jill were there as were Dan and Lynn Place and Jamie and his wife. It was nice to see Corey interact with his friends. I feel since I made him move to Laconia that he doesn't get to see those folks enough, though I will accept that he could call them and make plans!!!

It ended at 4:30, so we stopped at the Fahm on the way home. Mom and dad had hosted the neighbor's wedding that day, so we stopped next door to say congratulations to Megan and Dave. Apparently they had a super nice wedding too.

Sunday saw me on my way to Portsmouth to Melyssa's (my cousin's) Wedding shower. It was delightful. The cake was awesome, the strangers/new friends we sat with were fantastic and of course, the food was delish. I'm really proud of my cousin. She has overcome a lot of family adversary and turned out to be a great person! She is kind and loving and very savy. It's just genuinely nice to be around her and her fella is a delight too. I'm so proud of her. Their wedding will be in November at the Wentworth by the Sea in Portsmouth. Should be a hoot!

Here's my beef. EVERYONE! (and I mean that literally) asked me when we were going to get married. When will you get married Jenna? Are you and Corey next Jenna? When will Sophie and Brady get cousins? Um, HELLO people...Corey is the slowest mover in the history of decision making. I'm lucky the guy decided to move in with me. Yes, my eggs talk to me daily. Yes, I want to be married and yes, I want to have children. But the constant questions at such momentous events REALLY make me wish I could just stay home.

Is that wrong?

My Left Foot

Apparently I am channeling Daniel Day Lewis today. Well, ok, I am not that intense, but may someday...

Anyhoo, the two middle toes on my left foot keep shorting out. One minute I can feel them and an hour later I realize they have been missing! And then the tingle starts. It's seriously annoying. So I kick off my shoe and usually that helps. It's always when I am wearing heels of some sort. I thought it was just my little toeless black heels that smush my toes inward but now that it is fall and I'm wearing the big clunkers, the same thing happens. What's with that?

Does this happen to anyone else? Do you think it's a tumor?

Hump Day

Well, I've been fighting a headache all day long. My stomach has been upset and my head has been rocking out to heavy metal rock and frankly I just wanted to go home from work. Luckily I got to leave early to go and visit my favorite Doc EVER!!! Steve cracked my neck this way and cricked my neck that way and I finally got some relief from the monster that was eating my brain. Unfortunately the monster must have a automatic defibrillator with him, as he is back munching away, but the sweet relief right after seeing the chiropractor was tangible!!! *sigh* I love Steve!

Anyhoo...work was a stinker and lasted for ever, but I ran home at 3, grabbed up my snorty little pup and ran to the Fahm. Dropped off Jade doggy, got a look at the valances mom was making and made it to my appointment at 3:30. Phew, it was quite the race! Made it back to the Fahm to visit for a short bit with mom, enjoy some of her exceptionally, phenomenal beef stew, grabbed some paint supplies and headed home. Jadey loved the whole adventure and rode on my lap the entire way! I'm not sure why she loves to ride in the driver's seat so much, but I think it gives her a boost. Maybe she'll need a doggy booster seat for Christmas.

Dropped the Pug dog off at home and raced to Sherwin Williams where I bought a sample of Twilight Rose or some other such nonsense color. 15 minutes ago I thought it was fabulous. Now it's been on my walls all evening and it makes me sad that I didn't use a poser board instead. The color turned out to be way too purpley. I believe Corey's words were "you aren't paint the whole living room THAT color are you?" Then he asked me when I was going to paint it over...um, no, not tonight!!!

After that serious disappointment, I watched this week's DVR'd Closer and then went with Jade to Josie and Ayden's. They made a fabulous batch of yummy *toot* Boiled *pooth* Cabbage *fart*. Oh man, was it good! *buuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrp* While there we watched an adult swim show called "the Devil's Daughter Lucy" I thought it was going to be lame, but it was pretty darn funny. Lucy's boyfriend was DJ Jesus. Man, what a hoot!!! After dinner was a blast though, as we enjoyed the Lily and George dress up show. Jadey didn't fit any of the clothing at their house, except for a hat. Hee hee...it was pretty darn funny!!!!

Bed will come early tonight! That is for sure, but what a pleasant day. And the weather rocks out too!!!

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Today was a blast! Mom came down to the library to help with a project and she did a great job! When she arrived, Jeff Olisky was here waiting for a friend, so mom visited a bit. When she finished her little project, Karen arrived and the three of us had lunch with Bobbi Jo, Jessie, Ayden and Laura. A good time was had by all.

Though I got a lot of work done I was glad to go home and see my dog!!! Mom was there too as we had made plans. We shot over quickly to JoAnn's. I found the most perfect fabric for valances in the bedroom, which mom will work on this week. Yeah! It only took me 2 years, but I was finally able to make a decision! Whoo hooo!!!

Then it was home to the condo and Jadey and Pootie where I made the most delicious Chicken Parm. I'm quite impressed with myself if I do say so myself! It was my first try, based on Corey's instructions, and it turned out delish. Quite a success if I say so myself. Then mom stayed and we watched the second National Treasure movie on DVD. It didn't get over until 8:15, but I think we both enjoyed it. Of course Corey was home for dinner and the movie too, but he went and watched Baseball with the dog while mom and I hogged the couch.

Also, Laura helped me pick out a color of paint for the living room yesterday. It is Sherwin Williams Insightful Rose. Sounds and looks a bit purpley, but when viewed off the color card it is very mild. I'm impressed with my pick. Should match the carpet nicely and I'm also looking forward to losing the cold, Smurf blue of the one wall in the living room. Ca-ca. I can't wait to get the walls and trim painted and then get the new sofa and love seat next Wednesday. Should look fantastic!!

All in all it was a great way to spend the day! Just the best!

Monday, Oh Monday....

This Monday is bright and beautiful. I wish I could appreciate it more. Right now however I'm ready for my morning nap! Apparently last night was not a night for getting some sleep. Apparently our smoke detectors need new batteries, as one of them went BEEP twice an hour all night. And by the time I woke up and got out to the living room to figure out which detector it was, the BEEP was finished for another hour. Between that beep, Pootie meowing and knocking things off my desk and the not-so-synchronized snoring of Corey and my beloved poochie-pooh, I didn't get many zzzzzz's. So I'm struggling this morning.

So sure, my Monday morning is a struggle, but we had a GREAT weekend!!! First, I scrapped on Friday night with Tami. We both got a lot done and had a good time. We took advantage of the kitchen table at the Fahm, as there was more room, and mom joined in, working on a project of her own. She is making and binding a book of all the cards she received while she was going through the cancer process. The thing is though, it's taking her a lot longer than we thought it would to do this project as she keeps reading and re-reading all her cards. Then she may or may not have to take some time to sniffle! *sigh* That's my mom for you!!!

Anyhoo...I did 7 pages for Bobbi-Jo who just finished a triathlon. They came out great and she was really pleased. Then I did a 20 page 6x6 baby book for Kate and Brian's baby, Ethan! I can't wait to send it to them. It was just a quick one with coordinating paper and some stickers, but I think she'll enjoy it.

On Saturday we experienced monsoon type weather starting in the afternoon. Corey and I took advantage of the rainy day to travel to Manchester with Josie and Ayden. We checked out the couch and love seat that keep asking to come home with me and then went to the mall. Admittedly I pouted all afternoon when the furniture was a no go, but by the time we made it to dinner at the Outback, I mostly had snapped out of it.

The best part of dinner, besides the fabulous company, was the Peach Bellini Josie so kindly shared with me! Oh man, it was fantastic!!!!! Did I mention that more than 2 sips of alcohol makes me pretty darn funny? Nope? Well it's true!!! I giggled quite a bit on the ride home.

We ended up grabbing Jade dog (with a towel over her head so she'd keep the car dry) and went to their house for movies. It was a fun night, minus the part where the dogs had to walk through 5 inch puddles to potty. I don't think it was their favorite either!!!

Sunday was a great day for Corey! The Patriots won and just the fact that football was on, really tickled his fancy. I did some cleaning while he grocery shopped and then went to Joann's for a sale. Stopped to see Rachey at her horse show for 5 minutes, but she wasn't going to show for another 2 hours-ish, so mom brought me home. She and dad stopped by later for Meatball subs after Rachey HAD ridden. It was nice to see them both and feed them up. Mom and I finished the afternoon with a game of Skip-bo. Mom won of course, but only by 2 cards. Dad napped and Jade helped him with that for awhile!

Overall it was just a fantastic weekend. We did end up ordering the couch and love seat on Sunday and it should be here the 17th!!! I simply can't wait!! now I need to clean the carpet and paint the blue wall red and we will be all set!! Oh the joys of new furniture!

Working past noon today :(

Today I have to work past noon. Stupid day off on Monday means if I want to keep my earned time I have to put in the hours. How much of a bummer is that? But this morning was already a great one! Mom came down after getting her car worked on and she helped me with a library project. Then we had lunch. Fish sandwiches at the cafe...BLECH...but yum! Then she was off to have the girls poked and squeezed for her mammogram! Lucky Mary!

Last night Jade doggy and I chilled on the couch after we went for our walk. She is the sweetest thing. I also had the company of Pootie monster as I was eating dinner too! He wanted a bite of steak! Jade dog stayed on her end of the couch while I was eating, isn't she great?!? Pootie on the other hand though was all up in my face! Poking his little sniffer toward my hand. I had to bat him away and he finally gave up and sat on the coffee table staring. It was a bit disconcerting having 4 beady little eyes stare at my every bite, but I'm getting used to it.

After that I went to Bobbi-Jo's to visit. Her daughter and I worked on multiplication and spelling while her son did a workbook. It was super fun. Jadey joined us and enjoyed a few pieces of popcorn while the kids had a snack. She was so gentle with each tiny piece! *sigh* I love my dog, can you tell? Then it was bedtime, so Jadey and I left that craziness and headed home.

Happily Corey was home and Jadey was excited to see daddy. Sadly, he was watching the first football game of the official season. Ugh. Woe is me! I can't believe football is already starting. Even worse though, baseball hasn't ended, so it's a very sports time of year. I think I may get Jadey a Patriots shirt though if she is going to have to watch football with daddy every weekend! Oy! Maybe I should get a matching one for him....hmmm could be a great idea!

This morning was heavy with humidity, but we enjoyed our walk. Jadey poo was all about other dogs this morning and luckily the white and black floppy shit dogs from around the corner crossed the street. Man, those things are vicious monsters! When they back at us it sounds like they are going for blood. I'm surprised they don't froth at the mouth!

This afternoon will be errands and then I'm off to the farm to scrapbook! Yeah for crafting! I'll have to post a couple pictures if I get anything done. I am going to scrap some of Bobbi-Jo's triathlon memorabilia for her album. Should be a good time, I'll let you know!

Tap, Tap...this thing on?

Here it goes...

I'm jealous of all the folks out there who have their own spots to blog their thoughts. So that, combined with my mother telling me how much her friends want more "Team Mary" type updates, has led me to blogspot. Not sure how long or how often I will be here, but here it goes.

Let's talk about the fantastic BBQ we threw this weekend! Monday at noon or so I called some folks and invited them over for so social time in the backyard. Of course, 3 hours notice doesn't exactly bring people out of the woodwork, but we had a nice small group. My neighbor Linda, Josie and Ayden (with George and Lily for a short amount of time), Mary, Stu, Jadey, Jeff, Karen and Rachey enjoyed Turkey tips, Steak tips and chicken grilled to perfection by Corey cakes. I made a couple salads and some veggies and we had a delightful time. Couldn't ask for a better way to "end" the summer and kick off Rachey's school year than that. Sadly, Nick couldn't make it as he had to work. But as I say, silly work, always gets in the way.

As for those who may pass through here, looking for a Team Mary update...she
is doing FANTASTIC!!!! She reached the ripe young age of 65 and gladly joined the Medicare ranks in June. She and Stu the Pooh are spending the summer going on Geriatric Field Trips with the Biddies and the boys, mostly from their Florida group. Their first outing was up Canon mountain in the Tram, across the Kank and then to the Christmas Tree shop! The second one was the Alpine slide at Attitash, and I believe it was followed by the Christmas Tree shop!! Today they are lunching at Patrick's Pub after scuttling plans to go to Portland, Maine to do the Old Port. I'm sure that trip would have included the Christmas Tree shop too!!! :) Thank goodness she got a great report from Dartmouth and doesn't have to go back until next year, or she wouldn't be able to keep up on these field trips!

I almost named this blog...when will I become my mom!!!

And on one last note, I am sure this blog will include MANY pictures of sweet Jade doggy. She is the best little black pug dog ever and I think the world is ready to hear that! Would could ask for a better dog? Last night she hogged the bed and when I tried to put her on the floor, she moved as far away from me as possible. Luckily that landed her on Corey's head and he put her on the floor. She is so spoiled! HA!!
