Weddings and Showers and Marriage OH MY!

Labor Day weekend we attended Corey's old roommate's wedding. Chris and Kathy married at Church Landing in Meredith. It was a beautiful ceremony and up until that time I had no idea that the Landing had a ballroom. It was simply delightful. The ceremony was outside under a tent, facing the water. I don't recall the vows, but the weather was beautiful and the view of passing boats and clouds made for a perfect moment for them I am sure.

A cocktail hour followed the ceremony while the bride, groom and their entourage had pictures taken. Chris and Corey were roommates for 7 years or so and shared many friends. I got to meet his crazy friend Gabe and his delightful girlfriend Kelly. Jamie and Jill were there as were Dan and Lynn Place and Jamie and his wife. It was nice to see Corey interact with his friends. I feel since I made him move to Laconia that he doesn't get to see those folks enough, though I will accept that he could call them and make plans!!!

It ended at 4:30, so we stopped at the Fahm on the way home. Mom and dad had hosted the neighbor's wedding that day, so we stopped next door to say congratulations to Megan and Dave. Apparently they had a super nice wedding too.

Sunday saw me on my way to Portsmouth to Melyssa's (my cousin's) Wedding shower. It was delightful. The cake was awesome, the strangers/new friends we sat with were fantastic and of course, the food was delish. I'm really proud of my cousin. She has overcome a lot of family adversary and turned out to be a great person! She is kind and loving and very savy. It's just genuinely nice to be around her and her fella is a delight too. I'm so proud of her. Their wedding will be in November at the Wentworth by the Sea in Portsmouth. Should be a hoot!

Here's my beef. EVERYONE! (and I mean that literally) asked me when we were going to get married. When will you get married Jenna? Are you and Corey next Jenna? When will Sophie and Brady get cousins? Um, HELLO people...Corey is the slowest mover in the history of decision making. I'm lucky the guy decided to move in with me. Yes, my eggs talk to me daily. Yes, I want to be married and yes, I want to have children. But the constant questions at such momentous events REALLY make me wish I could just stay home.

Is that wrong?
