Surgical Services Fall Family Fun Walk

Bobbi Jo and Jessie put on a fun walk this past Saturday with tables set up in the rec house at the park in Lakeport. It was 20 degrees so Jadey and I only walked one lap with Darcy, but we at least made the effort! I don't have a picture of Jade, but she cut a fine form in her new pink down vest. It was quite cute! These are some of the candids that Bobbi Jo took!!!

Bonding with Jeffie

On Friday I called Jeff and asked him to help me hang my drapes in the living room then conned him into helping me hang the peg board in my bedroom for my scrap space. Anyhow, I just wanted to post these to show mom that we DO bond!!! And after we hung up all my stuff, I even took him to lunch! It was a great Friday morning.

Babies, Beautiful Babies

This past weekend at Brady's party, everyone knew that Deidre was preggers. That led to baby talk. Lots and lots of baby talk. TONS of women are currently knocked up, 2 in the OR, 4-5 in Registration, Cathy Lapierre, Tarsha and her sister in law, Deidre and one of their friends and it seems like every woman I meet!

Of course this led to the inevitable questions. Every friend, relative and loved one asked Corey and myself when we are going to start. What do we say to that? We aren't even married, nor do we have plans to be. I want babies desperately and know I would be a great mom. And frankly Corey is going to be a tremendous dad. But we need to get on it, before my feelings and my uterus dry up, shrivel and fall away.'

So here are some gorgeous baby pictures for you/me to drool over...

Mom's Hearth

This was the hearth at the Fahm last year. Certainy won't look this way in 2008. Instead it will be sunshine and seashells in Florida. Bummer. Nothing can beat a Mary Davis Christmas. We used to gather with all the Hahn's on Christmas eve, have toddy's Christmas cookies and fun. It was the only time all of us were together as we aged and got family's of our own. Then on Christmas morning we'd open our stockings, followed by breakfast and then we'd have our tree. It was always such fun. Gram and Grammy would join us when they were still with us and we'd have a grand time, followed by a giant lunch!!! Yum!

This year though, I'd settle for mom and dad, the Hearth at the Fahm and Christmas Cooking!!!

God I love my dog. And she apparently loves me. And anyone else who sits on the couch. But mostly she is daddy's girl. Sometimes she sits next the the kitty litter box and stares at the back door, waiting for him to come home. That way she can keep an eye on me and the door. And maybe dip into the box for a snack, but that is a story for another time!!!

In the pictures above jadey was keeping daddy warm. Isn't she cute? I had to wake her for a picutre. Even Corey was ok with the picture taking! In the pictures below, I came out of the bedroom one day and wondered, where is my dog? Well guess who had burrowed her way into the middle of the down comforter? Yup, it was Jadey.

She snuggles with Corey and burrows into teh down comforter...is she the perfect match for me or what?

Brady's first birthday

Could this child get any cuter! We went to Bray's first birthday party on Saturday. It was a fun time had by all. Birthday boy wasn't feeling so well, but it was nothing a little Tylenol didn't fix. It was fun to see everyone and hard to believe that the little guy is already a year old. All the kids were fantastic, some played downstairs, some upstairs, but all were good and it was fun.

Thank you Lung Cancer

OK, forget the goofy face I'm making, the unwashed face, the discombobulated hair, this picture is still one of my favorites. Not for the whoopee cushions I'm making, the sweet filling, the chocolate cake, nor for the obvious weight I'd lost. I love this picture because I am doing holiday baking and my mom was snapping pictures.
Last year at this time mom was fighting off the stupid lung cancer. She'd lost her hair (and looked fantastic as a cue ball) and was having stupid chemo. But secretly I wasn't that heart broken. I knew that Mary, of all the people I know, would kick cancer's ass with her positive attitude and outwardly "kick ass" statements, plus the walks she'd been taking and the food she DIDN'T stick in her face!!! Anyhoo, the best part of mom's lung cancer was that she stayed in NH through the holidays for the first time since I moved home!!!
So this picture represents the start of our season. We baked whoopee pies, hung out with a kitten we'd rescued and were holding for the weekend and made Cinnamon ornaments too! (which dad thought were yucky tasting cookies, HA!) The following weekends saw us baking at Karen's, decorating the mantel and just hanging out, enjoying the family.
So for those times I thank cancer. And I really miss mom this year. There is no seasoning in the world I can add to pumpkin bread to make it taste the same as when mom cook's it. I think it's a love thing!!!

Mo the Clown / Lester the Jester

Thursday night I met a friend from college at the Tilton Diner. I hadn't seen him since 1999 when we both left college. He lives in Connecticut with his two cute kids and college sweetheart. we had a fabulous dinner and great conversation! It had been years but felt like old times. I do wish he lived closer.

While we were eating though, a young guys went over to the booth behind us and started doing balloon designs for the kids. He made a super cute pirate hat and sword that had me thinking...argh, matey, I wish I were a kid!Arrrgh.

But seeing this guy do balloon designs reminded me of Mo the Clown/Lester the Jester. He was a clown in the Shriner Clown Corps when my dad was a Shriner and went to all their events. he taught me to make a few balloon animals when I was younger and it was always fun to see him. He was a big bald guy and hard to miss.

Well no sooner had I told Chris about this Mo the Clown dude when low and behold, who walked over to the young balloon designer? That's right, Mo the Clown. When he walked by again I said, "Hey, aren't you Lester the Jester, otherwise known as Mo the Clown?" Well that started 45 minutes of conversation/entertainment! He was chatty Cathy and said he'd stopped doing Jester about 16 years ago (man that makes me old) cause the hat was so heavy.

It was fun to see him again and he was wicked funny. he even said that since I remembered him as Lester the Jester and no one had called him that in years he'd come to a function of mine for free if his dates matched up.

Now I wonder what kind of function I should throw!?!

Let's revisit...

Let's revisit my 30th SURPRISE birthday party, shall we???

I LOVED having a SUPRISE birthday party. And now that I will be turning 33 on December 19, 2008(Don't worry, I won't let you forget it) I think I should have another surprise party. I've already asked Corey, Ayden and Jeff...all said no. How could they? Economy, schconomy is what I say!!! So I thought I'd post some pictures so they can remember how much stinking fun we had at my 30th SURPRISE party and what a great feeling it was for the birthday girl!!!
