Just a fun blog of what's new in the life of this lovely librarian. I write about all the interesting stuff in my life but mostly about my dog Jade, my husband Corey, my cat Pootie, my folks, brother, sister-in-law and all my friends.

New Obsessions
This blog about 4 pugs living in Florida is awesome. Henry, Benny and Luna are fawns and Sol is an old black lady. She is so darn cute though. It would be worth your time to scroll through their blog, as Sol is Super cute! And the others are too!

This is a picture a day of Merry. Merry is a beautiful Fawn pug who models clothing for dogs for her mom’s website. It’s super cute and some of the coats and boots she has make me laugh like a hyena!! I feel slightly sad for Merry though as she is blind, something a lot of pugs come too. But in all her great pictures (mom is a FANTASTIC photographer) she looks like the happiest dog in Canada! (Jade being the happiest dog in America.

March is a cold bitch
In like a lion and out like a lamb? Well I am still waiting for the lamb part. This past week it’s been 20 degrees when I’ve gotten up to walk el dog-o. 20 degrees!!! What’s a cold girl and her chubba pugga supposed to do? Well I tell you, we borrow Corey’s hate, gloves and big poofy down coat. Then we huddle in, snuggle up and walk as fast at we can. I lost my own hat, (damn it…it was the best darn hat EVER!) so Corey’s is a bit too small and doesn’t cover all my ears, but I make up for that with my scarf. But in the middle of March, three days past the start of spring, should we REALLY have to put that much thought into dressing to go outside and walk the dog at 6am? REALLY?

Happy Birthday Linda!
This weekend was Linda Moulton’s 60th Birthday. Corey’s dad held a surprise dinner for her at the Granite Steakhouse in Rochester and it was fabulous. There were friends, family and more family. Brady and Sophie were there of course and kept most of us entertained. Sophie had just had her ears pierced at the mall that day and was VERY proud of her shiny sparkly earrings. For being just three years old, she is really quite adventurous! Brady tried to stuff an entire piece of cake in his mouth…man, the kid takes after his Aunt Jenna!
A good time was had by all and then repeated by a few on Sunday. We reconvened with just Paul, Linda and their kids and grandkids at Jamie and Jill’s for Sunday dinner. Chicken Parm was served by Jill who did a fantastic job! It was yuuuuuuuuuum-meeeeeeeeey! She and Sophie had also frosted and decorated a cake that morning which was a delicious way to end our evening. Jade was included in this family outing and spent a lot of time around Brady, waiting for him to drop some of his dinner. She’s a pretty smart dog!
All in all though, I think Linda had a great 60th birthday, celebrated not once, but TWICE!!! Nothing quite like family and friends to remind you of why it’s important to celebrate life’s moments.

Lions and Marriages and Babies Oh MY!
Today I learned that one of our friends is about 2 seconds pregnant. Is it in the water? And if it is in the H2O, then why aren't I knocked up? I mean, we have city water, it's not like we have an artesian well or anything. Apparently my man put a filter on our tap. Like we now have a permanant Brita or something. I'm not actually sure that it's fair. Now with Corey's layoff and the "economy the way it is" I may be 34 before I'm allowed the drink the agua. Tick tock goes my eggs.
In the mean time I will just torture myself with trips to Babies R'Us, checking blogs online, investigating registries, attending the showers, finding the right thing to wear to the weddings and hoping that an IUD really isn't 99.9% effective.
Seriously, it's an epidemic and the only prescription is Cow Bell baby.

Thumpin' Thursday
I’m not sure what the title means, but I think it means Thumpin’ as when you are rocking out to the music in your car and base is THUMPIN’! HA!
That is what I did Thursday; I rocked out in the car. I had to go to a meeting of the North Country Consortium of Health Science Libraries in Littleton. *Pushes Glasses up Nose* It was a really nice day for a drive through the notch. The sun was shining and I had my Pearl Jam CD on. It was great. The meeting was pretty good, I always learn stuff when I go. And afterwards I found an awesome scrapbooking store. It’s located in the same giant room as a pool provisions store. I guess the owner already had a pool store and when they expanded into a new location she added her passion of scrapbooking. It’s actually pretty neat and they had a GREAT paper selection. Plus, the gal who was working was fantastic and easy to talk to.
After I spent only a few dollars there, (this is a recession you know,) I toodled home. It was a such a great drive, it was almost 50 degrees and the sun was shining so I had the sun roof open and the radio THUMPIN’. When I got home I was greeted by voracious barking and tail wagging. Jadey was SO glad to see Mumma. Corey was too. Poor guy. I was in a playful mood and apparently had cold hands and bad breath! Unluckily for me he let me know about them so I spent a few minutes aggravating CCP (Captain Cranky Pants) and then read for awhile.
Went to water aerobics at 5:30 and then bee-bopped over to the Vineyards for dinner with the girls. Met Kim, Kim’s mom, Jeanne, Karen DeLitha, Darcy and Kelly for some yummy yums, sips of drinks and dessert. The only thing I ordered for dessert was a spoon! HA!!! Thankfully the girls let me mooch so that Polly the Pouchy doesn’t get ouchy! (tee hee, that rhymes!) It was a super fun time! Karen filled Kim’s mom in on the story of the Pedophile, the Pastor and the Pilot and that led to many laughs as we came up with more P’s that Karen could divorce Jeffie and marry. It was so funny we left with bellies that hurt from so much laughter. I think by the time we made it to Podiatrist we were too far gone to stop the giggles. Needless to say a good time was had by all!!!
Then it was home for some floor time with the Hugga Pugga. She and I played tug for a LONG time. Usually it’s just a couple tosses of the Octopus and she’s done. But this time she made it through that and onto her rope pull toy! I will have to try and video it sometime, cause the growling noises she makes are Fun-ny!!!
Ok, my goal in blogging about my day to day now is to keep Mary updated. She said to me, while chit chatting on the phone yesterday, that when she goes to my blogsite and there isn’t a new post it makes her sad. So…Mary, this one is for you!!!
Kissy Kissy

Wacky Wild Weekday
Ok, so it’s not like I am actually living the life of a gal with a wacky wild weekday, but I just wanted to suck you in! And if you are reading this, it works!!!
Yesterday was a fantastic day! The sun shone all day, it was St. Patrick’s Day and work was decent. What more could a girl ask for? So after sitting in the roasting warm library all afternoon, I was SO ready to be outside. I ran home after work and grabbed Corey and the dog and we went on a super long walk. Ok, well it was super long for Jade dog and only about 35 minutes so that didn’t make it SUPER long for us, but still, it was nice. We walked over to the park by city hall that has a bandstand. Jade doggy sniffed and marked and pottied the whole way there and the whole way home! She was such a trooper. She started out doing circle after circle around Corey and I and by the time we headed back to condo land, she was one tuckered pug! You could hear her breathing from a block away.
When we got home there was a short rest and then dinner. Corey made some very yummy mashed potatoes that I thought were delish. He is pretty hard on his cooking so he didn’t think they were all that and a side of fries, but I liked them. Kind of reminded me of Grammy McDonald’s mashed potatoes so it made them even better! Anyhoo…I made fish with crackers on top and a salad. Jadey-poops got to sample the salad leftovers, like the ends of the cukes and the seeds. She is so cute! She slurped the cucumber seeds down like it was spaghetti! Darn dog likes more vegetables than I do!!!
After our delightful dinner it was a quiet evening filled with TV and some laundry folding, though not too much laundry folding! Corey has been doing an awesome job of keeping the house clean. It has been looking fantastic! He is great with a vacuum and the Windex bottle, not to mention he does all the grocery shopping. Good thing he does too, since I ABHOR grocery shopping! Yuck!!! We’d eat a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches if I was the shopping guru in our house!!!
Today Corey is going to a High School basketball game in Concord. I think it’s a class M championship, but no matter how many times he tells me, I can’t seem to keep it in my head. So it will be just the hugga pugga and myself! What will we do? Hmmmmm the possibilities are endless…

Today's laugh
Mom and I chatted for about 10 minutes this morning and caught up. So when the phone rang about 10 minutes later, I didn’t think it would be her. Well, it was and she had today’s funny story of the day!!!
Apparently, Monster Cat, aka: Bumblebee, was making noise on the porch when mom got off the phone with me. Mom said she heard this bump-bumpa-bump and headed for the noise, suspecting it was Monster. When she went out on the porch, there was Bumbles the Bad with her head stuck in mom’s watering can, water leaking all over the floor and of course all over the kitty. So mom had to pull Fat Head out of the plastic can, dry off a soaking wet and not too happy kitty and then mop up all the water! Silly cat…watering cans are for ducks, not kitties!!!

Me n' Rachey
This weekend was super duper busy. Friday night I had dinner at Karen and Jeff’s. Saturday morning, after doing some laundry and cleaning, I had breakfast with Corey, Ayden and Josie. Saturday afternoon I went skating with the gang followed by lunch at Hector’s and Saturday evening I babysat for Bobbi Jo’s two children. Sunday I played Mary Kay in the morning with Bunny and Jessie at Bunny’s house, then immediately came home and left for Paul and Linda’s house where we had Sunday dinner. After an afternoon of visiting there, with Corey and Jadey, we went to Jamie and Jill’s house to watch the Duke/Carolina game. Then it was home and exhausted to bed!
I had such a great time with Rachey this weekend, she is the best. ON Friday night we played board games including Aggravation. She apparently went to the Jen Davis School of poor winning and losing, as she is very much like me. It made for a great time. Then when we were skating on Saturday we really enjoyed each other’s company! She has gotten to be a really good skater this season, tootling around the rink and trying her best at skating backward. She is a quick study and becoming quite a nice young lady! On Friday she even tried out some sarcasm on me! OY VEY!!! The 9 year old is getting to be sarcastic…*sigh* Where does the time go?

My Sister-in-Law at Lowe's
Today I’ve been teasing with my Sister-in-Law since she told my brother a story about me. So she just sent me this email. It DEFINITLY made me laugh!!!!
Karen to Jenna: How about I cheer you up? First of all. I just left Lowes because I had to buy a toilet snake. One of my dinosaur-doo children plugged the downstairs toilet AGAIN and I couldn’t plunge the issue away. So I’m standing in line, all dressed up and prissy and two Lowes guys walk by, stop, and say “that’s not something you see every day!” - meaning a prissy girl standing in line with a toilet snake hanging over her arm! Ha ha!
This is what I wrote about my brother. We are all getting together to have a Lasagna that my mom froze for us before she left. It’s like frozen gold and instead of fighting over it, mom told us to share. So needless to say I am looking forward to Friday. So Jeff called and told me that the menu for our dinner had changed because he and Karen had already liberated the lasagna from my parent’s freezer and what did I want to eat that night. Well, I kept my cook, but I was VERY sad inside. So this is what I wrote about Jeffie in an email to Karen. She then told Jeffie about it. And apparently lots and lots of other people too. She thinks I am funny!
Jenna to Karen: Jeffie told me you guys had already eaten the lasagna awhile ago this morning and he really upset me that you two were not considerate enough to have us over for dinner. Yeah, Jeff really hurt my feelings. Didn’t wind me up about it or anything, but he teased me long enough for me to cry about it. Silently. Wiping sad, slow tears away as he told me how good it tasted. *sigh* NOT nice

Stink-a-pug-a-mus
So our little Jadey had a total stink pot issue. When we got back from vacation she was ok. You could tell she was starting to be a bit gamey, but then all of a sudden this weekend, things went from gamey to limburger cheese. Finally, when Corey said she smelled like vomit one too many times (and didn’t respond to my, “well clean her then!!” comments) I called the groomer.
So today off she went. Poor thing though. As soon as we turned the corner onto Oak street, which is only about 2 blocks from our house, she started to shake like a leaf. Then she whined. “Uwww, uwwww” with *shake, shake* makes for a long ride (3 minutes) to the groomer. Of course she ended up on my lap which just confirmed it was a whole body shaky-shivery kind of thing, when she just about vibrated the fat off my thighs!!! (I should have driven around for an hour!)
We arrived and inside she went but she certainly did not want to be there. We saw a Jack Russell/Daschund mix who was also doing the shiver and shake, a black lab looking at her dad like he had just left her in one of Stalin’s Gulags and a big, brown, fuzzy poodle!!
I left her in good hands, but it certainly feels like leaving your kid a the kindergarten the first time. Or at least that’s how I imagine it feels!
Anyhow, an hour and a half later I picked up a clean smelly VERY happy little doggy!! She did circle after circle after circle when she saw me and then shook her tail and made her noises all the way home. A treat and the couch cushion of her choice and I left her in heaven!!!
